Manchester United are looking to get rid of Jadon Sancho and a swap for Raheem Sterling has been touted.
As the transfer window begins to wind down ahead of Friday’s deadline, Manchester United still have some work to do.
The work comes in the form of Manuel Ugarte who is now thought to be imminently completing a move after the fee was agreed between the two clubs.
Aside from this, the departure of Jadon Sancho is looking likely, with Dan Ashworth in talks with Chelsea over a swap deal for Raheem Sterling.

How Manchester United fans are reacting to Jadon Sancho swap rumours
After the rumours of Sterling to United surfaced, fans on X were far from pleased, citing one famous swap as a reason not to do this deal.

This of course in relation to the terrible swap deal between United and Arsenal which saw Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Alexis Sanchez swap clubs – with neither working out for the best.
The deal has many similarities to a Sancho and Sterling swap, with fans taking to X voicing this.
One fan seconded the comparison: “Sterling-Sancho loan swap is one of the most interesting deals of the summer. Sterling-Sancho permanent deal swap is the Sanchez-Mkhitaryan of the decade”.
“This Sancho and Sterling swap deal stinks of Mkhitaryan and Sanchez. I’ve not seen any fans on either side happy with the deal”, wrote another fan.
This fan raised an interesting point: “Sterling makes no sense. Alexis Sanchez all over again. Will just stall Amad’s development”.
Another fan brought up the fact Sterling is formerly of Liverpool and Man City, so should not be playing for United: “Sterling to United would be a horrible move. Apart from being an ex-scouser and city player, this has major Alexis Sanchez vibes to it. Get Sancho sold to Juve and call it a day.”
Finally, this fan just hammered home the comparison: “Swapping Sancho for Sterling is giving me Sanchez for Mkhitaryan vibes”.
Quite clearly this move is not sitting right with fans and is causing serious worry considering the historical move and the fact Sterling has no real place in the team – or even on the bench.
Ineos must steer clear of signing Raheem Sterling
Signing a player like Sterling has its merits, but for the current situation Manchester United find themselves in, there is little point in bringing the Englishman into the club.
Sterling would cost big wages for a start, as he earns £325,000-a-week at Chelsea, which United are very unlikely to pay him.
Aside from financial reasons, Sterling does not fit into the United team as a starter which is the whole reason he is leaving Chelsea. At United he will be lucky to be a back-up to Alejandro Garnacho, fighting with Marcus Rashford for minutes.
Having both Rashford and Sterling in a squad seems counterproductive as neither is in the elevation of their career, but rather are rapidly decreasing in their talent – which contradicts the work Ineos want to do.
Therefore, hopefully, this deal fades into nothing and we manage to instead sell Sancho for cash.
