Manchester United continue to be linked with a January move for out-of-favour Chelsea star Christopher Nkunku.

With just a week left until the January window slams shut, Manchester United are yet to complete any first-team transfer business.

A third bid has been submitted for Patrick Dorgu, who has emerged as the club’s top target this month at wing-back, but with several players close to leaving there could yet be more incomings.

Marcus Rashford remains in talks with Barcelona over a potential exit, while Alejandro Garnacho has been linked to Chelsea as Ineos continue to weigh up what would be a controversial sale.

While the Londoners set their sights on Alejandro Garnacho, Chelsea star Christopher Nkunku has been linked with a move in the other direction.

Man United interested in Christopher Nkunku deal

United share a long-term interest in Nkunku having monitored him during his time at RB Leizpig. Former manager Ralf Rangnick recommended the French forward as a potential target before his £52m move to Chelsea.

The 27-year-old has scored 13 goals in all competitions this season for Chelsea but has slipped down the pecking order of Enzo Maresca’s squad due to the form of Cole Palmer.

According to reports, United are considering a loan offer for Nkunku with the club’s PSR issues making a permanent deal unlikely. That is, unless, a large fee is collected for Garnacho in the coming days.

Nkunku is an ideal Rashford replacement, with the Chelsea star capable of playing in either No.10 position in Ruben Amorim’s 3-4-3 setup.

Chelsea are open to letting Nkunku leave after offering him to clubs ahead of January. The player’s stance on moving to Manchester has now been revealed.

Christopher Nkunku’s stance on joining Man United

One thing that United would be able to offer Nkunku is more game time than he is currently getting at Chelsea. He has played just over 400 minutes of Premier League football this season despite his incredible form in Europe.

According to Caught Offside, Nkunku is keen on a move to Manchester United after seeing a potential deal with Bayern Munich fall through.

He had agreed personal terms with the German giants before the deal collapsed, which suggests he is open to an exit this month.

The report adds that Chelsea have set a £59m asking price for Nkunku this month – a very similar fee to what United are demanding for Garnacho.

After United looked toothless against Fulham on Sunday evening, Amorim will no doubt want attacking reinforcement. Nkunku’s potential move to Manchester is certainly one to keep an eye on in the final days of the window.
