Manchester United’s search for a new striker has seen RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko become a top target.

Ineos have already made two attacking additions to Ruben Amorim’s squad with a £62.5m deal for Matheus Cunha and the imminent arrival of Bryan Mbuemo for £71m.

Next up, United will sign a new striker but the Red Devils have already missed out on a few of their top targets.

Liam Delap snubbed United for Chelsea, Viktor Gyokeres wants to join Arsenal and Hugo Ekitike has agreed to move to Liverpool. The options have narrowed, but Benjamin Sesko is still available this summer.

United are tracking Sesko this summer, and it seems club scouts are heavily in favour of the deal.

Man United scouts love two Benjamin Sesko traits

Sesko is available for around £68m this summer, and the 22-year-old is a long-term target at United after he was approached back in 2022.

He has shown huge signs of promise in Germany, with Sesko compared to Erling Haaland for his goalscoring ability and presence in the box.

According to AbsolutFussball, United scouts view Sesko as an “athletic penalty-area striker with pace and aerial prowess”.

His combination of athleticism and height makes him a “complete package” for United, and an ideal fit for Ruben Amorim’s tactical setup.

Sesko stands at 6ft 5in and hit a top speed of 35.47 km/h, ranking him among the fastest players in United’s squad.

United appear to be ramping up their interest in Sesko, and it comes at a great time in the Slovenian’s career.

Sesko is admired by Christopher Vivell from their time together in the Red Bull Group. Sesko started at Red Bull Salzburg before making the move to Leipzig in 2023.

Last season, Sesko scored 13 goals in 33 Bundesliga appearances, with five assists added on top.

His ball striking is incredible, with Sesko boasting an incredible catalogue of long-range strikes.

Sesko also covered 297km last season – Amorim wants athletic players in his squad and it seems Sesko is a good fit to carry out his pressing demands.

It would be an expensive gamble for United, but at 22 years old Sesko could transform into a superstar at Old Trafford.
