Manchester United’s transfer window has been sparked back to life after six weeks of negotiations to sign Bryan Mbeumo.
After nearly two months discussing the transfer, an agreement has finally been reached between Manchester United and Brentford.
On Friday, David Ornstein tweeted to report that United had agreed to sign Bryan Mbeumo for £65m up front plus an additional £6m in add-ons.
This is more than the club would initially have wanted to pay, however, looking around the league and it is quite clear that Ineos picked up a bargain.
United negotiated to pay in four instalments, taking just £16.25m from the bank balance this summer, which might open the door for further additions this summer without the desperate need for sales.

Fabrizio Romano confirms Manchester United’s next position to target in transfer window
Signing Mbeumo was absolutely vital for United this summer, having identified him as a top target and taking a long time to arrange a deal that suits.
So with Mbeumo likely to sit his medical this weekend, now the transfer recruiters will turn attentions elsewhere.
Now, Fabrizio Romano has tweeted to share what he is hearing about United’s plans this summer now that Mbeumo has been completed.
Romano has claimed that United are now planning to sign a new striker over the next few weeks as a priority target which would complete the entire frontline overhaul which has been overdue.
Regarding a new striker, United still have a number of different options who have been linked with the club this summer.
On his YouTube channel, Romano then spoke out over the desire for a striker.
“The next top striker is the striker, because Manchester United are working on it already, they made calls in recent days. I can confirm that internal meetings are taking place Ruben Amorim and all people at the club want a striker.”
Manchester United have several striker options this summer
This summer, United initially wanted to sign Liam Delap up front this summer, but he decided to join Chelsea and sit on their bench behind Joao Pedro.
So this has caused United to look elsewhere, with Benjamin Sesko emerging as a target for United after Arsenal decided to sign Viktor Gyokeres instead.
Another option which has consistently been linked is Jean-Philippe Mateta, who would be a slightly shorter term and cheaper solution for the club.
There are others, with United keen on Nicolas Jackson at the right price. While another Premier League option for United is Ollie Watkins who could be leaving Aston Villa this summer.
All of these would be upgrades on Rasmus Hojlund in his current state, so hopefully a new number nine can arrive quickly.
