Ruben Amorim has hinted that Manchester United will overhaul their squad in the summer transfer window.
Earlier this week, Ruben Amorim warned his Manchester United squad that there will be changes made this summer.
“I’m quite honest with my players and they already know that sometimes they have to move on at the end of the season,” Amorim said.
Amorim wants to win the Premier League at United, so he is under no illusion that 14th place is nowhere near good enough. A complete rebuild will begin in the summer, and United only need players who desperately want to be here.
Casemiro has made it clear he wants to stay until his contract expires, and another senior United star has now also made his stance clear.

Andre Onana only wants to play for Man United
United’s injury crisis meant Amorim couldn’t even fill the bench against Fulham in the FA Cup. One position that is really short of options is goalkeeper with Altay Bayindir and Tom Heaton injured.
It has piled pressure on Andre Onana to stay fit and available with the only other goalkeeping options coming from the academy.
Reports suggest that Amorim wants to sign two new goalkeepers to solve United’s shortage. Bayindir is expected to leave this summer, while Heaton’s contract is set to expire.
Despite the prospect of two new goalkeepers arriving and challenging for the starting spot, Onana doesn’t want to go anywhere anytime soon.
According to Manchester Evening News, United is the “only club” Onana wishes to play for, so he is prepared to fight for his spot in Amorim’s side.
After Onana was labelled a calamity for United this month, some fans may want to see him leave this summer, but that mentality is exactly what Amorim will be looking for in his players.
Ruben Amorim rallies behind Andre Onana
United in Focus understands that faith in Onana around Old Trafford is low given the mistakes he has made this season, but he does have a big supporter in Amorim.
Amorim has backed Onana to turn things around and shine at United, saying: “We just have to support Andre. We need to forget about the past and prepare for the future.”
Onana has a winner’s mentality, and while his form at United has not matched his time at Inter Milan, he has still produced some unbelievable moments between the sticks.
Amorim wants a goalkeeper who can pass out from the back and that is one of Onana’s biggest strengths.
There are plenty of more glaring issues in this United squad than the goalkeeper, and while Amorim will want some younger shot-stoppers brought in to challenge Onana – he can expect to keep his first-team spot next season.
