There is still a lot to play for Manchester United this season, with avenues for both Europa League and the Champions League open via cup competitions.
Furthermore, each place in the Premier League is worth up to £3 million, and with the way Ineos have functioned at Old Trafford so far, it is probably enough for someone to keep their job!
There has been dissonance between Man Utd fans and Ineos because their ruthlessness has mainly be limited to non-playing staff when the biggest underperformers, relative to their salary, have been the players.
Ruben Amorim has now addressed that in a direct warning to the Man Utd squad as the season enters its crunch stages.

Ruben Amorim’s warning to Man Utd squad
Amorim’s honesty has been a breath of fresh air for the fans who’ve been gaslighted for far too long about the state of affairs at Man Utd.
While that has also led to him making unfortunate headlines at times for the club and himself, it’s much more palatable than not acknowledging the problem at all.
His latest comments will resonate with the fans the most, as they echo their sentiments they’ve had all along, never been stronger than they are now.
Ahead of the FA Cup game vs Fulham, Amorim faced the press and when asked about the summer plans, he didn’t restrict himself to talking general platitudes.
He said: “We can talk about that in the end [of the season] because it’s hard… we have a lot of games still to play and talk about and but that is clear [change is coming].
“I think that is not a difficult situation because everybody understands that in football, sometimes you stay, sometimes you have to move on.
“When you are honest with someone, in the beginning it is hard, but they will understand. So, I’m quite honest with my players and they already know that sometimes they have to move on at the end of the season.”
Man Utd’s most important window post-Sir Alex Ferguson
It feels like this is something that’s said every summer but this summer window truly is United’s most important since Sir Alex Ferguson retired.
Every window under the Glazers was a hopeless mess, even if it returned some good players while Ineos’ first window was muddled with indecision over Erik ten Hag.

This is the first time that Ineos and the manager of their choosing will work together to shape the squad.
Furthermore, it comes on the back of what will undoubtedly United’s worst Premier League campaign of all time, so the player power has never been weaker.
The management nailing or failing this window could decide the trajectory of the club for the next decade. Ruben Amorim is at least saying all the right things.
