Manchester United’s only chance of salvaging the season is by winning a piece of silverware.
It has been a topsy-turvy campaign for Manchester United as Ruben Amorim’s side is positioned 13th, in the bottom half of the Premier League.
The Reds are still in contention to win the FA Cup and Europa League after reaching the latter rounds, but the league form means a top four finish is incredibly unlikely.
That could make for another year out of the Champions League as Ineos push a relentless cost-cutting scheme at the club.

One way for United to make money is to sell some of the high earners in Amorim’s squad who are underperforming or past their best.

While Amorim often overlooks Casemiro, there’s no denying that the Brazilian midfielder still has something to offer if and when called upon.
The United head coach has previously explained that Casemiro was struggling with the physical demands of the Premier League.
Casemiro hasn’t featured in the league since United suffered a defeat against Newcastle back in December.
This has led to transfer interest as Corinthians express an interest in signing Casemiro on loan.
However, the former Real Madrid star won’t be leaving United anytime soon.
United in Focus understands that although the transfer window is open in some countries, including Brazil, Casemiro will remain at United until the end of the season.
A short-term loan deal is unlikely because of the £350,000-a-week payment package Casemiro receives.
Casemiro unable to impress Amorim
Due to being regularly overlooked by Amorim, Casemiro has managed just 19 minutes of football since the turn of the year.
Amorim has even opted to play United academy graduate Toby Collyer ahead of Casemiro, which is a clear sign that the Brazil veteran has been pushed down the pecking order.
Casemiro joined United from Real Madrid in 2022 following a £70 million deal, but he has had mixed fortunes after an impressive debut campaign.
The defensive midfielder has a contract with United until 2026.
United could look to sell Casemiro with a significant price cut in the summer.
