Three reasons Manchester United should consider Yves Bissouma

The search for Paul Pogba replacements at Manchester United should already be underway.

There will be several players linked to United over the coming weeks, some good, some bad.

Here is a look at the case to sign underrated Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Yves Bissouma.

He is a very good player

Bissouma has been an impressive performer for Brighton since being signed in 2018 for £15 million from Toulouse.

He is averaging 3.4 tackles made per game in the Premier League this season, and at 24-years-old he has a lot of scope to get even better.

Bissouma is confident taking players on, averaging 1.4 successful dribbles per game, exactly equal to Paul Pogba.

The Mali international has a strong work ethic, and would slot in well with Fred, Donny van de Beek and Scott McTominay in terms of the endeavour Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants from his midfielders.

He is not a big name

United are unlikely to get a huge fee for Paul Pogba due to his expiring contract. The club are probably looking at around £60 million at best.

So it is sensible to have more moderate targets in mind in terms of price, rather than going round and chasing Galacticos.

Bissouma knows the Premier League already and would love to take the step up.

The success of Pierre Hojbjerg at Tottenham underlines that there are bargains to be had in the Premier League, and Bissouma could fit the category.

Big guns are already on the hunt

Bissouma’s performances are beginning to attract attention from other big sides.

Talksport report both Liverpool and Arsenal are both considering January moves for Bissouma.

United may take notice of this and decide to act before he gets snapped up by Liverpool.

Interest in him underlines the quality he brings, and United should look a the possibility of signing him before he steps up a level.
