Scotland midfielder Scott McTominay shared a heartfelt reaction with one Manchester United fan after receiving a touching present outside of Old Trafford.
Scott McTominay is on the verge of leaving Manchester United this summer after Serie A side Napoli tabled a bid of around £25m.
Fulham had been heavily linked with the 27-year-old Scotland international and even had a £20m bid rejected by United for McTominay.
United were initially believed to be keen on holding out for a £30m transfer fee, having received that offer for McTominay from West Ham last summer.
However, McTominay is out of contract with United next summer and the Red Devils were ready to sanction a sale for the Scottish midfielder.
The United star’s impending exit from Old Trafford was sped up by the Red Devils’ pursuit of Paris Saint-Germain defensive midfielder Manuel Ugarte.
Manuel Ugarte has been a key target for United this summer and the 23-year-old Uruguay international landed in Manchester this week ahead of his medical.

McTominay’s interaction with Man Utd fan
Erik ten Hag had been keen to keep Scott McTominay among his Manchester United ranks after an impressive goalscoring campaign with the Red Devils.
McTominay has impressed with both Scotland and United recently and the midfielder scored 10 times in 43 matches across all competitions for the Red Devils.
Footage has now emerged on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, of a heartfelt interaction between McTominay and one United fan.
The United supporter can be seen extending a bracelet to McTominay outside of Old Trafford, with the visibly moved Napoli-bound player putting his present on.
Responding to the United fan, McTominay said: “No way! Thank you very much, that’s so sweet. I’m gonna put it on.”
Rio Ferdinand reacts to McTominay news
McTominay has played three times for United this season and all three of his appearances have come from the bench.
Rio Ferdinand admitted that it “doesn’t sit well” with him that the Red Devils are preparing to offload the former youth academy player to Napoli.
“I look at Scott McTominay, and not every player can be a star standout player or a franchise player,” he said on his YouTube channel.
“I always say this: to win the league, you need the likes of a John O’Shea, a Wes Brown, Darren Fletcher, Chicharito, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer from when we were at United.
“Or you need the likes of [Julian] Alvarez when he was at [Manchester] City, who can come in. Like last season, Jeremy Doku was coming in and impacting games even though not necessarily always starting all the games.
“Those players are huge. You need those players and they understand the DNA, especially the ones who come through the academy. Man United have always stood by that.
“It really doesn’t sit well with me. To replace him you are going to have to spend, £30m, £40m, £50m and it’s not going to be cheap to replace him.”
