Fabrizio Romano has revealed that a former Manchester United player under Erik ten Hag has now received an ‘approach’ from one club in the Premier League.
Erik ten Hag has endured a mixed start to the 2024-25 Premier League season, with Manchester United suffering one defeat and one win in their opening two matches.
United bounced back from the Community Shield defeat earlier this month to beat Fulham 1-0 at Old Trafford in their first Premier League match of the season.
However, Ten Hag saw an early Premier League setback on Saturday when Brighton clinched a 2-1 win over United in injury time at the Amex.
United will now face Premier League rivals Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday ahead of the September international break.
Ten Hag, who inked a contract extension with United over the summer, has seen his first-team squad bolstered with the arrival of several new signings.
Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro both signed for the Red Devils in July, while Ten Hag was reunited with ex-Ajax duo Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui this month.

Romano on former Man Utd star
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is set to make his fifth summer signing with the arrival of Paris Saint-Germain star Manuel Ugarte at Old Trafford.
Ten Hag has been keen to add a new defensive midfielder to his ranks before the transfer window shuts on 30th August.
United were linked with Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat, who spent last season on loan at Old Trafford, amid their move for Manuel Ugarte this summer.
Sofyan Amrabat arrived at United on deadline day in 2023 and United had the option to sign the 28-year-old Morocco international on a permanent deal this summer.
However, United did not exercise their option to buy Amrabat at the end of his loan spell and the Morocco midfielder was shipped back to Serie A side Fiorentina.
Fabrizio Romano has now confirmed that Everton have made an approach for Amrabat, with Fenerbahce currently in negotiations with Fiorentina over the player.
“Negotiations underway between Fenerbahce and Fiorentina for Sofyan Amrabat,” he tweeted on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“€2m loan and €12m mandatory buy clause offered, Fiorentina want more.
“Talks continue as Amrabat also received an approach from Everton today.”
Amrabat’s agent on Man Utd
Giulio Tedeschi, who represents Amrabat as his agent, had refused to rule out the idea that Amrabat could have made his return to Old Trafford this summer.
“Right now, in my opinion, there is a concrete possibility of bringing Amrabat back to Manchester United,” he told Italian outlet Firenze Viola in July.
“In my opinion, there was some doubt also because it was not known whether Ten Hag would stay.
“Now that it’s certain that he will stay, there are grounds to think about bringing Amrabat back even on loan with obligation, or at a lower figure. The United solution is the easiest.”
Giulio Tedeschi added: “I believe Amrabat’s renewal with Fiorentina until 2026 was done deliberately to help La Viola gain strength. It’s a tactic that clubs do to gain bargaining power.
“If it’s not €20m (£16.8m), it won’t even be €10m (£8.4m). It will be a mid-range figure, trying to maximise his sale.”
