Jadon Sancho is finally set to be unveiled as a Manchester United player.
BILD report a deal could be announced as soon as Thursday (July 1).
So let’s break it down a little, and look at what this means for Manchester United.

Everyone is a winner
We can list the many winners from the deal for Jadon Sancho. Key stars Marcus Rashford, Mason Greenwood, Edinson Cavani and Bruno Fernandes are all going to benefit from Sancho’s arrival.
Sancho can play on both sides of United’s attack, left and right, providing the team with extra versatility in team selection, and unpredictability for opponents to deal with.
He allows Rashford and Greenwood to be used a little more sparingly, and less of the over reliance Ole Gunnar Solskjaer employed last season. United will be less dependent on Bruno Fernandes for creativity, while Cavani will thrive off Sancho’s ability to supply chances.
The biggest winner of all is Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. This could be the defining transfer of his time in charge at the club.
Attacking signing Solskjaer has been waiting for
Ever since Solskjaer’s first summer at United, the manager has been looking for a transcendent attacking player who can be part of his long term vision for the club.
Dan James was signed merely as a stop gap until Sancho became available, and while this does not mean the Welshman will leave, Solskjaer finally has his man.
Solskjaer has looked to buy British players where possible to front up his rebuild, and Sancho is the new cornerstone of his plans.
While the jury will remain out on whether Solskjaer can deliver silverware to United, he finally has the player he has wanted all along. Now he will get a proper shot at it.
The difference this season compared to 2019, is that Solskjaer has used the past two years to get United up to second in the table, as opposed to finishing outside the top four.
United are a better side, with more cohesive structure, fitness, and a gameplan, while Sancho is a more well rounded, savvy and better player than he was in 2019 too.

In some ways the move puts more pressure on Solskjaer to deliver, but he won’t mind.
The manager can deliver the attacking football United fans want to see, and if Solskjaer is ultimately one day replaced as manager, Sancho will remain, and we will remember the Norwegian for bringing him to Old Trafford.
But Solskjaer has been looking forward to signing Sancho for a long while. He will have planned how to make the young Englishman a success, and there is a pretty good chance Sancho helps Solskjaer win his first silverware as Manchester United manager.
His big signings have pretty good track records so far, with Harry Maguire and Bruno Fernandes proving must-pick additions to the team. Sancho can be too, and Manchester United fans have every reason to feel very excited right now.
