Ruben Amorim doesn’t have much of a successful legacy at Man Utd to speak of, but even his biggest wonderkid story is ending brutally.

To say that Ruben Amorim had an uncomfortable relationship with the Man Utd academy would be an understatement.

Not only did he refuse to empower them, but he actively talked them down without any prompting.

Still, one wonderkid emerged from the rubble with his reputation raised, but his story is ending brutally as pre-season begins.

Man Utd set to sell Tyler Fredricson

Tyler Fredricson was the only good story to emerge out of that horrible 2024/25 season when Amorim took over a struggling squad and somehow found new lows every week.

Amidst all the chaos, Fredricson came out of nowhere and looked right at home in senior football.

The youngster was never mentioned as one of the exciting prospects, but he blew past all expectations, ending the season as one to watch in 2025/26.

Unfortunately, people were rarely able to watch him in 2025/26, as he battled injuries constantly. His one game with the senior team was the devastating defeat to Grimsby in the Carabao Cup.

He was never seen with the first team again, and even though he did train with the senior team a few times, the season was a write-off.

Ahead of this year’s pre-season, his stock is so low that United haven’t even called him up for the first friendly, and it’s been decided that he’ll leave Old Trafford.

It will end an anti-climactic career for Fredricson at Man Utd, who was a model professional, but fell victim to the chaos under Amorim and his own injuries.

Fredricson’s fate reflects poorly on Ruben Amorim

What happened to Fredricson is unfortunate, but it reflects poorly on Amorim as well.

What is your response to Ruben Amorim’s apology?

Ruben Amorim has finally addressed Manchester United fans, six months after his sacking

Ruben Amorim apologises to Manchester United fans. Talking Points.

His talent ID leaves a lot to be desired, as he clearly put an undercooked youngster into a chaos cauldron. He was bound to drown eventually.

It is to Fredricson’s credit that he didn’t drown immediately, but that is no way of introducing a youngster into the team.

Furthermore, when Fredricson needed confidence from his manager after the Grimsby disaster, he became AWOL, never to be seen again under Amorim.

Amorim’s talent ID was poor, as he selected Fredricson based on his age (older than others) and physicality, and then his man-management was even worse.

He gave Fredricson his senior debut, and the player will always be grateful for that. But that was just the beginning. Amorim failed him afterwards.
