An eagle-eyed Manchester United fan captured Ruben Amorim’s telling reaction during the Red Devils’ Premier League clash with West Ham on Sunday afternoon.
The Hammers arrived at Old Trafford on the weekend for their Premier League match and West Ham secured a 2-0 win over Manchester United on the day.
United faced an uphill battle against West Ham after the Hammers took the lead in the first half, with Tomas Soucek scoring from close range past Altay Bayindir.
The Hammers took their 1-0 advantage into half-time and Graham Potter’s men built on their advantage in the second half against United at Old Trafford.
Jarrod Bowen netted West Ham’s second of the match in the 57th minute and Ruben Amorim’s men were unable to rally back against the Hammers in the 2-0 defeat.
West Ham sealed all three points against United away from home and the Red Devils fell to their 17th Premier League loss in their woeful 2024-25 campaign so far.
Graham Potter’s side also climbed above both United and Tottenham in the Premier League table after Sunday’s result, with the Hammers now sitting in 15th place.

What Ruben Amorim did in Man Utd’s 2-0 Premier League defeat to West Ham at Old Trafford
Manchester United are winless in their last five Premier League matches and the Red Devils are a point behind West Ham and a point above 17th-place Tottenham.
The Red Devils will end their abysmal 2024-25 season with their worst finish in the Premier League era and United only have two matches remaining in their campaign.
Ruben Amorim’s men are unable to finish in the top half of the table and United’s qualification for European football is dependent on their Europa League campaign.
United have reached the Europa League final and the Red Devils will face Premier League side Tottenham on 21st May at the San Mames Stadium in Spain.
TikTok user ‘Mufczw’ shared footage from United’s 2-0 defeat to West Ham and of Amorim while he was sat with his United coaching staff in the Old Trafford dugout.
The TikToker claimed the footage came after United conceded and Amorim appeared visibly frustrated and could be seen running his hand over his forehead.
Ruben Amorim’s eye-opening assessment of Man Utd’s Premier League performance vs West Ham at Old Trafford
United manager Amorim said that it was “really disappointing” to see how the Red Devils performed at home and that his side lacked “energy” against West Ham.
“I think we suffer two goals we can avoid,” he told beIN Sports, as per Manchester United’s official website.
“We have our chances, but we lack energy. We lack pace and we suffer a goal in small things. They go there a few times.
“We spend a lot of time outside the box, but we need to cross more often. Even from the second ball. So, in that sense, it’s really disappointing.
“We need to think, at the end of the season, about a lot of things. It doesn’t matter if we win the Europa League or not; we need to change a lot.
“Of course, we need to focus on the final but, again, there are a lot of games more important than the final.
“Winning or losing – that is what is on my mind every day and every night. We need to change a lot of things in our club.”
United will face Chelsea in their Premier League clash at Stamford Bridge on Friday before the Red Devils meet Tottenham in the Europa League final in Bilbao.
