Bruno Fernandes excited by Ruben Amorim
Bruno Fernandes was asked about Ruben Amorim after Manchester United’s victory over Leicester City, a game in which he starred.
Fernandes explained how Manchester United’s players are feeling about Ruben Amorim, speaking to DAZN.
Fernandes’ comments were relayed via Mais Futebol: “We are all excited, it is a time of transition.
“He is a coach who has changed Sporting along with its structure, put the club in the place it deserves and we hope he does the same here.
“We want to follow the same path here together that he did at Sporting.”
Fernandes has paid particularly close attention to Amorim’s success with his former club, where the coach has become the first Sporting boss to win multiple league titles since the early 1950s.
Ruben Amorim issues warning to Bruno Fernandes
Ruben Amorim showed the demanding side of his personality, when he was told about Bruno Fernandes’ comments in his post-game press conference.
He issued a warning to the Manchester United captain about what lies ahead.
Amorim said: “Is Bruno excited? I hope so. In other phases, he might not be so excited.”
The incoming head coach’s comments speak volumes about how he will make the Manchester United players bend to his demands, and not cater to their expectations.
Amorim will instruct his players to work intensely off the ball, and while that may suit the energetic Fernandes, he knows it will not be easy.
