Manchester United defender Patrick Dorgu has revealed his true feelings on one player now among Ruben Amorim’s first-team squad after the Leeds United match.

The Red Devils kicked off the start of their five-match pre-season summer tour on the weekend and Manchester United travelled to the Strawberry Arena in Sweden.

United faced Leeds United in Solna on Saturday and the Red Devils played out a largely uneventful 0-0 draw against the newly promoted Premier League side.

The Red Devils were lively during the pre-season friendly match against Daniel Farke’s men, but United couldn’t make the breakthrough against Leeds in the tie.

Ruben Amorim had started his first pre-season training as United manager two weeks ago today after some of his players returned to the Carrington complex.

Following United’s 0-0 draw against Leeds in Stockholm, the Red Devils will play their next three matches of the pre-season campaign in the United States.

What Patrick Dorgu had to say about Man Utd wonderkid Diego Leon after Ruben Amorim played the signing vs Leeds United

Ruben Amorim wasted no time experimenting with his Manchester United first-team squad in the Red Devils’ pre-season opener against Leeds United on the weekend.

The 40-year-old United manager started Diego Leon as the left-sided wing-back in his tactical system for the Red Devils after the teenager’s arrival this summer.

United agreed to sign Diego Leon in January when he was only 17, but the 18-year-old Paraguayan wonderkid completed his move away from Cerro Porteno in July.

Leon, who can play as a left-back or as a left wing-back, linked up with his United teammates for the Red Devils’ pre-season training under Amorim this month.

The Red Devils teenager played the opening 45 minutes against Leeds before former Sporting CP head coach Amorim hooked off Leon for the second half of the match.

Speaking on Leon, Patrick Dorgu has insisted that the United wonderkid can be a “top player” and welcomed the competition that he can offer for the Red Devils side.

“He’s a top, top player,” he said, as per the Manchester Evening News.

“He’s a good player, he’s good for everyone. Everyone has competition in their positions.

“Every player has two or three players in their position. It’s just going to help the team even more.

“Everyone’s going to be on their toes, everyone’s going to give 100 per cent to the team.”

Ruben Amorim made his feelings known on Diego Leon after the Man Utd wonderkid’s debut performance vs Leeds United

Dorgu replaced fellow United full-back Diego Leon at the half-time interval during Saturday’s 0-0 pre-season friendly encounter at the Strawberry Arena.

United paid an initial £3.3m fee to sign Leon from Paraguayan outfit Cerro Porteno in the first place, with the Red Devils agreeing a further £7m in add-ons.

Speaking after the Leeds match, Amorim welcomed the shift that United left wing-back Leon put in for the Red Devils during the first half in Stockholm.

“We have to understand that the kid came from Paraguay and it’s the first week, the second week in Manchester United,” he told MUTV, as per Manchester United’s official website.

“He did really well, he’s learning things, he’s powerful. He’s going to be a very good player.”

United will now travel to the United States for the next phase of their tour and will face fellow Premier League side West Ham at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
