Manchester United’s second signing of the summer transfer window has been completed and announced by the club.
Six months after sitting his medical, Diego Leon’s move to Manchester United has been made official by the club on Saturday.
It is a deal we all knew was coming, as Leon spoke about the move this week on his way to Manchester, outlining his ambitions to play for the senior team.
On Saturday, United confirmed the signing of Leon for £3.2m rising to £7m, with a post on social media, which had the 18-year-old pictured signing his contract in club apparel.
The teenager makes history with Leon, the first Paraguayan to play for United. The move is a big deal, with Leon taking to his Instagram, reacting to the move being made official.

Diego Leon reacts as Manchester United deal confirmed
Moving from Paraguay to Manchester is a massive life-changing switch for Leon, and it will take time for him to settle into his new country.
However, this scary move has not stopped him from being excited over the transfer. Back in January, Leon declared moving to United as his dream, and now he is living it ahead of pre-season.
On his Instagram on Saturday, Leon reacted to the announcement by writing, “All in. Let’s go Red Devils” on his story, followed by three heart emojis.

Leon subsequently shared three additional posts of himself and United on his story, one of which was from the Cerro Porteno account.
Porteno announced Leon’s move earlier this week; however, they posted again with a design of Leon in both Porteno and Manchester in the style of a playing card, captioning the photo as ‘living a dream’

Rio Ferdinand welcomes Diego Leon to Old Trafford
The announcement of Leon was all over social media on Saturday morning, with Manchester United supporters reacting to the deal with excitement.
One notable response under United’s X post to confirm Leon was Rio Ferdinand, who sent a one-word message to Leon.
Ferdinand wrote: “Welcome!”
The United legend is often quick to welcome signings and take young players under his wing as he did with Leny Yoro last summer, and it is nice to see him doing it again here.
