Ruben Amorim has provided an update on team news after Manchester United’s remarkable derby win.
Manchester United left it late to beat Manchester City on Sunday afternoon with Amad Diallo inspiring a late comeback.
Ruben Amorim matched Sir Alex Ferguson by joining him as the only United managers to have won their first Manchester derby.
It was a statement performance from the Red Devils, who have won an away game against Big Six opponents for the first time since before Erik ten Hag was appointed.
The only negatives from Sunday’s result were Mason Mount suffering an injury after just 12 minutes and Noussair Mazraoui seen limping after the game.

What Ruben Amorim said about Mason Mount and Noussair Mazraoui
Amorim admitted he loves Mount in his first few days as United boss, but he hasn’t been able to play the 25-year-old as much as he’d have liked.
Sunday’s setback adds to Mount’s terrible injury record at United, and the England international looked devastated at the prospect of returning to the treatment room.
As for Mazraoui, he has been in superb form under Amorim and will be a huge miss if his knock turns out to be significant.
After the full-time whistle, Amorim explained that he ran down the tunnel so he could get an update on the two injured United stars.
Speaking to club media about why he went straight to the dressing room, Amorim said: “It’s more the problem with Mason and Nous. You think right away, you go in the tunnel and think right away because we have a lot of games, you know. We need to continue to win and it will change if we don’t win the next game.”
On Mount, Amorim added: “Yeah, he really fits our style. He will continue to fit because he’s a very good player. Also, outside of the pitch, he is the kind of character I want in this team and we want as a club in this team.
“He has a movement, it’s not like something he made a sprint. He made a movement and stretched his leg and felt something.
“It’s bad luck, nothing with the problem of the body of Mason Mount. It was a bad movement and he is going to recover because we need him.”
Mason Mount and Noussair Mazraoui could miss Tottenham clash
The games continue to come thick and fast for United with four games still to be played in the next 14 days.
Next up is the Carabao Cup quarter-final clash away to Tottenham on Thursday night. The North London outfit thumped Southampton 5-0 on Sunday evening so will be full of confidence for the cup meeting.

After withdrawing from Sunday’s derby with injuries, Mount and Mazraoui are now doubts for Thursday’s trip to the capital.
Amorim will provide further updates later in the week, but the injuries could open up an opportunity for Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho to return, while Leny Yoro could be in line for another start in defence.
