Edinson Cavani scored his first Manchester United goal of the season at the weekend. It was just his second start.
United have not used Cavani optimally up until now, and his goal can be a turning point.
This is set to be Cavani’s final season, so United need to use him while we can.
After all, you sometimes don’t know what you have got until it’s gone. Just ask PSG.

PSG decision criticised
On paper PSG have a dream attack of Kylian Mbappe, Neymar, and Lionel Messi. Throw in Mauro Icardi too for good measure.
But as Manchester United have discovered in recent weeks, every good team needs balance.
PSG have been told that deciding to let Cavani leave was a big error.
French journalist Geoffrey Garétier is quoted by Le10Sport telling Canal+: “Cavani had a huge advantage, it is that he worked for the collective.
“He pushed himself, he ran, he compensated, he was very generous physically in all areas of the field. And we have to admit that when he left, this profile was not replaced.
“There are only stars, gamblers, magicians… But there is not this shadow player who makes it possible to improve the whole.”
A lesson for United
The argument is similar to the one Gary Neville has been pushing about Manchester United in recent weeks. He told Sky Sports the team needed players like Park Ji-Sung and Carlos Tevez who would work tirelessly alongside Ronaldo.
Cavani has a similar profile with his work rate off the ball, and he showed at the weekend how well he can play alongside Ronaldo.
There is a lesson for United too, that when Cavani leaves, he will be tough to replace.
United will need to sign another striker, and it may not be easy to find the right replacement. Cavani’s traits are hard to replicate, and between now and the end of the season, we hope to enjoy them as much as possible.
