October was a turbulent month for Manchester United but it provided a platform for one star to step up and impress.
It has been a hectic few weeks at Manchester United, who sacked Erik ten Hag and announced his replacement in a matter of days.
The Dutchman was sacked on Monday morning, with the 2-1 defeat to West Ham proving to be Ten Hag’s last in charge.
The Red Devils played six matches in October and only won twice, one of which was the 5-2 victory over Leicester City which was managed by interim boss Ruud van Nistelrooy.
It was a month that derailed the season. United are down in 21st in the Europa League after two draws against Porto and Fenerbahce in October and things are not looking much better in the Premier League with United 13th in the table.

In a month where United fans had little to cheer, their choice for Player of the Month was clear.

Alejandro Garnacho named Man United player of the month
One player that stood out despite United’s struggles was academy graduate Alejandro Garnacho.
United confirmed on Saturday that Garnacho was named the October Player of the Month after receiving 56 percent of the vote from the fan poll.
It is the fourth time that Garnacho has won the Player of the Month award, with his most recent one coming in December last season.
Despite United’s poor results, the 20-year-old has started the season excellently and has already scored six goals and assisted four times.
It means Garnacho is keeping pace with Kylian Mbappe this season after his blockbuster move to Real Madrid.
Alejandro Garnacho sent strong message to Ruben Amorim
Ten Hag faced a lot of criticism during his time at United, but one thing that can’t be questioned is his commitment to youth – and he got the best out of Garnacho during his time at Old Trafford.
Garnacho now faces the task of fitting into Ruben Amorim’s “spectacular” tactics with the Portuguese manager expected to implement a 3-4-3 system.
It could spell trouble for Garnacho, who doesn’t naturally fit into the formation unless deployed as a wing-back – something that may limit his attacking output.

But Garnacho sent Amorim an emphatic message after starring against Leicester City in the Carabao Cup midweek. The young Argentine proved he is up for the fight under Ruben Amorim – who will be tasked with fitting Garnacho into his side somehow.
There are plenty of unknowns about how Amorim could line up at United, which is equally as exciting as it is nervewracking.
