Manchester United are on the hunt for a new manager after Erik ten Hag’s position became untenable, with Ruben Amorim the current top contender.
After a disappointing 2-1 defeat against West Ham United, Ineos felt they had no choice but to sack Erik ten Hag with immediate effect.
This came following a run of just one win in eight games, and with Manchester United sitting 14th in the Premier League and 21st in the Europa League – United fans have agreed with the decision.

Club legend Ruud van Nistelrooy has been appointed interim manager, however, the club are expected to be looking for a permanent solution.
On Monday evening, reports accelerated that the man to takeover could be Sporting Lisbon’s Ruben Amorim after he verbally agreed terms.

How Manchester United could line-up under Ruben Amorim
The Ruben Amorim links are heating up and suggesting he is only a few small details away from officially being named the new Manchester United manager.
But how would Amorim line-up at United?
To start with, Amorim deploys a 3-4-3 as his favoured position – and given the success he has had at Sporting we struggle to see a reason he would change it now.
Using his Sporting XI as a template, Amorim could really shake things up with several United players in line for a new role and position.
So assuming he is in charge this weekend, here is how we predict United to line-up.
Goalkeeper
In goal, not much will change however Andre Onana will be hoping that he will be facing fewer shots under the new regime.
Defence
Moving into the defence, Amorim would likely set up a three-at-the-back system, which United could be perfect for when at full strength in the position.
However, with injuries, his immediate starting line-up could be Victor Lindelof on the right, Matthijs de Ligt in the middle and then Lisandro Martinez on the left.
Leny Yoro likely comes into the team in place of Lindelof when he is fit – while Martinez would have a great deal of responsibility on the ball just as former United target Goncalo Ignacio had at Sporting.
This system would also allow one of the three to drop into midfield to help cover against transitions – something which has been a real struggle this season.

Midfield
So with the back-three in place, the midfield likely also includes the wing-backs, who Amorim likes to be more forward-thinking.
Starting on the right, Diogo Dalot will be at an advantage being Portuguese and so we expect he will start immediately.
In midfield, Manuel Ugarte could be given a new lease on life under his former manager – while alongside him Amorim could use Casemiro, Christian Eriksen or a young midfielder from the academy – in the absence of Kobbie Mainoo.
On the left – Amorim will likely want a left-footed wing-back in order to get crosses into the box. This is why, with Amorim’s record of promoting youth, we could see Harry Amass promoted, until January at least when United could bring Alvaro Fernandez back to the club.
Attack
Amorim’s three attackers in a line will make it interesting how he plans to fit in club captain Bruno Fernandes.
But with the role attacking midfielder Pedro Goncalves plays on the left side, perhaps Amorim would view Bruno as a starter in this role.
On the right in that event, it would be either Alejandro Garnacho, Amad Diallo or Marcus Rashford – with all three more natural wingers, with Amorim starting Trincao in this role.
Up top, the biggest winner of Amorim’s arrival could be Rasmus Hojlund who will hope to become as good up front as Viktor Gyokeres has been for Sporting.
