Four Manchester United players have been named in Gareth Southgate’s England Euro 2020 squad.
Harry Maguire, Marcus Rashford, Luke Shaw and Dean Henderson all made the final 26-man cut.
Mason Greenwood pulled out of the squad earlier in the day citing a minor injury, amid a positive reaction from United fans who want to see him rest up.
There is no such rest for Rashford, who played a bigger role in qualifying for the tournament, or Maguire, who themselves are both dealing with injuries.
Maguire, Rashford, Shaw, and Dean Henderson each sent messages after their places in the squad were announced.
No Jesse Lingard
Jesse Lingard was harshly overlooked despite a tremendous end to the season on loan at West Ham.
Linagrd featured for England in the World Cup qualifiers in March and had made the 33-man shortlist.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka was not even in the final 33 despite his defensive abilities. Gareth Southgate has selected four right-backs in his squad, but may have left the best defensive one out altogether.
Jadon Sancho is in the squad, and there is a slight hope he could be a United player by time the tournament begins on June 11.
