Summer signing Senne Lammens will hope to build on his impressive debut by starting for Manchester United against Liverpool.
Manchester United moved swiftly on deadline day to secure an £18m deal for Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp after walking away from Gianluigi Donnarumma and Emiliano Martinez.
The 23-year-old was viewed as an elite talent, and Ruben Amorim finally gave him a chance to impress in the comfortable 2-0 win over Sunderland.
United fans fell in love with Lammens immediately after watching him keep a clean sheet on his debut at Old Trafford, tongue-in-cheek comparisons to Peter Schmeichel quickly followed.
Ruben Amorim challenged Lammens to now become consistent as United’s shot-stopper, but everything behind the scenes suggests he has what it takes.

Senne Lammens showcases elite mentality at Man Utd
Club insiders insist Lammens has been at Carrington every day since his summer move to help him settle in and fulfil his potential.
Lammens has a unique pre-game ritual that includes taking meticulous notes and closely analysing his opponents.
It seems United’s new goalkeeper rarely takes time off, with the Daily Mail reporting that Senne Lammens has asked to come into Carrington on his days off for extra training sessions.
The report adds that Lammens often hit the club gym at Antwerp as late as 1am to carry out night sessions – including after matches.
It is refreshing to see such a determined player arrive at Old Trafford after years of complaints over player power and managers questioning the work rate of the squad.
How Senne Lammens reacts to mistakes
Lammens has enjoyed a brilliant start at United thanks to his outstanding performance against Sunderland, but facing Liverpool at Anfield is an entirely different challenge.
Gary Neville has frequently said that he believes United’s goalkeeper is the most scrutinised position in the Premier League, so Lammens will now have to handle that spotlight.
It is inevitable that he will eventually make a mistake – it happens to all goalkeepers – but what is important is how he reacts and responds.

Thankfully, Lammens’ former coach Rik De Mil believes he is already equipped to bounce back.
“When he was behind Mignolet, he had moments of doubt which is normal for a young talent,” De Mil said. “When he made a mistake, he put more pressure on himself. Over the years he developed into somebody who can handle this pressure. When he makes a mistake, he just continues. He has grown a lot in this.”
