As we near the quarter way point of the Premier League season, it is worth checking in how Manchester United’s 2025 summer signings have fared.

With the second international break of the season underway, Manchester United are two points better off than at this stage in the 2024/25 season under Erik ten Hag.

United sit 10th in the table, and Ruben Amorim will know that a good run of form is all it will take for a top five push, being just three points off Manchester City in fifth.

Encouraging signs for United and the current expected points puts them fourth in the table, with the new signings brought in by Ineos over the summer being key in the improvements from last season.

So with a break in action, here is the five additions from the summer rated.

Manchester United forward Matheus Cunha arrives to face Brentford.

Matheus Cunha

The most exciting signing from the summer on paper was Matheus Cunha, however, he is yet to really find his feet at Old Trafford.

No goals or assists, while Amorim dropped Cunha to start Mason Mount vs Sunderland, with the number 7 scoring, making it likely he continues to replace the Brazilian.

That being said, Cunha has came close to scoring, hitting the woodwork on a few occasions and ultimately his goal is probably on its way soon.

Rating – 6/10

Diego Leon

The cheapest signing of the summer was Diego Leon, and he is yet to make his debut for United, as the 18-year-old adapts to the increased demands of playing in England.

However, judging Leon on his disappointing U21 performances, it is hard to argue he has been a good signing so far, with Harry Amass looking like a better player.

It is only early days, but we can’t give Leon a rating higher than bang on 5/10.

Rating – 5/10

Bryan Mbeumo

While Cunha hasn’t quite hit the ground running, Bryan Mbeumo has been excellent, picking up two goals and an assist this season so far.

However, it isn’t the goals which make him a success, rather his excellent all-round play which improves United so much.

Wayne Rooney has raved about Mbeumo, admitting he makes his teammates play better, with Amad a major benefactor on the right now that they have formed a partnership.

Rating – 7/10

Benjamin Sesko

Similar to Mbeumo, Benjamin Sesko has really started to find his feet at United, with two goals in his past two games.

Amorim has been thrilled with Sesko’s performances, and the Slovenian is only going to get better.

Sesko was third in United’s player of the month vote in September and more goals are in his immediate future. He already has been such an upgrade on Rasmus Hojlund that he gets a very strong score.

Rating – 8/10

Senne Lammens

In rating the signings, we can only judge on what we’ve seen, and for Senne Lammens this means a flawless record.

Peter Schmeichel has raved about Lammens after his debut, which saw him claim high crosses and make big saves, looking like a proper goalkeeper which has been lacking at United.

Lammens has already proven himself an upgrade on Andre Onana and Altay Bayindir at United, and the future looks bright.
