There is another Manchester United connection you may not know about at AC Milan.

Ruben Amorim has been hired at AC Milan as head coach and he is on a collision course with Manchester United for the friendly match between the two teams in mid-August.

It is Amorim’s first job since he was sacked by Manchester United in January, and he is looking to rebuild his career.

He could have a couple of former Manchester United men in his corner. Zlatan Ibrahimovic is Milan’s special advisor, currently taking flak for his absence, while a pundit at the World Cup.

There is a third man who could end up being promoted above Amorim, Jovan Kirovski.

Jovan Kirovski could get AC Milan promotion

Ruben Amorim’s AC Milan project was dealt a major early blow after the club’s choice of sporting director fell through.

After failing to land Ralf Rangnick, who committed his future to Austria, Milan thought they had a deal with Eintracht Frankfurt’s Markus Krosche.

It has now been revealed that Krosche has rejected Milan, leaving them scrambling to find an alternative.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, Milan are considering promoting Jovan Kirovski, who is currently heading up Milan Futuro, the club’s reserve team.

Kirovski has experience as the former technical director at LA Galaxy, where he played a key role in signing Zlatan and Javier Hernandez.

Jovan Kirovski, almost a Man Utd star

Jovan Kirovski was in Manchester United’s academy in the mid-90s and was a player who Sir Alex Ferguson wanted to bring into the first team.

However, the young striker was denied a work permit and he ended up leaving without playing a game for the Red Devils.

He went on to win the Champions League with Borussia Dortmund in 1997.

Kirovski also played 64 times for the USA across his career.

Now in his post-playing career, he is a possibility for a very high profile role at AC Milan, overseeing Ruben Amorim.
