Former Brazil international Sandro has spoken extremely highly of Manchester United signing Ederson.
Manchester United have begun their summer transfer business with a £38m deal for Ederson, who is set to join from Atalanta following his World Cup campaign.
Ederson was a late call-up to Brazil, so his arrival at United has been delayed.
United fans were split on the Ederson signing as he arrives as a bit of an unknown quantity, but Sandro insists that Ineos have struck a very good deal.

Sandro raves about ‘top midfielder’ Ederson
As quoted by Goal, former Tottenham star and Brazil international Sandro only had good things to say about Ederson making his move to Old Trafford.
“I think Ederson at £38 million, I believe, When you think, Man United are linked with Elliot Anderson, Sandro Tonali, Tchouameni from Real Madrid, they’re all obviously world-class players, but they are so expensive comparatively.
“I think £38 million for Ederson is a bit of a bargain, really, in today’s market, right?
“I know that he’s a top midfielder. He went to Brazil a few times with the national team. I saw a couple of videos, whilst I didn’t follow him game by game, I know that he’s strong. He has that physical ability to play in the Premier League and I know that a few other clubs wanted to sign him from the Premier League as well.
“But this is a player who will come to United to replace Casemiro. Wow… to replace Casemiro, you have to put your level right at the top, right up there with the best, because Casemiro is a huge, huge player, and he did well at United.
“I think he has the quality to build the game and he has the strength to take players out, because he’s that strong. I don’t know if he can be box-to-box, but he will be the midfielder that will control the game. He can pass well, he can tackle, he can be that player that’s strong in the middle.”

Ederson tipped to control games at Man Utd
There are reports that Michael Carrick wants to tweak his tactics heading into 2026/27 to introduce more control into his midfield.
According to Sandro, that is one of Ederson’s biggest strengths.
Ederson has the physicality and athleticism to thrive in the Premier League, but he has also been tipped to control matches with his technical ability too.
Considering that United still want two more midfielders to arrive, fans may look back on this Ederson deal as a bit of a steal in today’s market.
