Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot is two games away from winning an international trophy.
Dalot’s Portugal are into the Under-21 European Championship semi-finals.
This came after an entertaining quarter-final match against Italy which went to extra-time after a 3-3 draw.
Portugal came out on top winning 5-3 after extra-time, avoiding penalties.

Tournament knockouts
The group stages of the tournament were held in March, which is when England were knocked out.
The knockout rounds are now being held, and a strong France side boasting Dayot Upamecano suffered a surprise 2-1 defeat to the Netherlands.
Dalot, 22, is eligible to play because he was under 21 when qualifying for the tournament began.
Portugal are one of the favourites, having come through the group stages with a 100 per cent record without conceding a goal, including a 2-0 win over England. Dalot played all three of those matches.
This time Portugal were not so solid defensively, conceding three goals from open play.
Dalot did not have a game to remember as he was left face down on the turf after allowing Italy’s cross to evade him for their 89th minute equaliser to force extra-time.
Portugal’s attacking players went onto bail the defence out with two extra-time goals to win the game.
Next up is a semi-final for Portugal against Spain, which will take place on June 3.
The final will be held on June 6, with the winner of Portugal and Spain taking on the victor between Netherlands and Germany.
Dalot is United’s only representative in the competition finals and he will be looking to raise his own profile with a trophy.
This could help both player and club with United likely to be open to permanent offers for the defender after his loan at AC Milan.
Dalot had a generally positive season but it does not seem likely at this point that he has done enough to be anything more than a back-up upon his United return.
