Dean Henderson has signed a new contract at Manchester United.
It is a big deal. The goalkeeper has signed a five-year contract, which United have an option to extend for a further 12 months.
This is a massive show of commitment from the Red Devils to the 23-year-old.
Henderson sent a message out to supporters after the deal was announced by the club.
Henderson was called into the England squad a day earlier, reward for two outstanding seasons on loan at Sheffield United.
Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer told the club website: “We are delighted that Dean has signed his new contract. He had another great season at Sheffield United, where he gained a lot of experience and grew both as a player and a person.
“Dean is a fantastic young keeper with the attitude and work-rate to keep improving every day.“We are in a strong position within the goalkeeping department and that gives us the competition for places that we are looking for in the squad.
“Dean is another great example of the type of player who has come through the Academy and truly understands what it means to be at Manchester United.“We are all looking forward to working with Dean and continuing to develop his talent.
“
Henderson kept 13 clean sheets in the Premier League last season for Sheffield United.
Now a decision lies ahead for United over what to do with Henderson next season.

Sky Sports report Henderson will go head to head with David de Gea for the number one spot.
A decision could still be taken after pre-season for Henderson to go on loan for another year.
If Henderson does stay, it will likely mean an exit for back-up Sergio Romero.
This will be an interesting test of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s man management skills to keep both De Gea and Henderson happy.
De Gea is one of United’s top earners, and after a commitment like this to Henderson, it shouldn’t be ruled out that the Spaniard could leave, to save on the wage bill and to raise transfer funds, if a suitable offer came in.
