Cristiano Ronaldo’s move to Manchester United was officially confirmed on transfer deadline day.
Ronaldo’s return is an emotional one for all concerned, including the player himself.
The forward enjoyed huge success at Manchester United in his first spell between 2003 and 2009.
Ronaldo sent a message to fans on social media after the move was confirmed, and along with that, he uploaded a group of photos showcasing a few of his favourite Old Trafford moments.
With Fergie
There is only one place to start for Ronaldo and that is with the man who brought him to Manchester United in the first place, Sir Alex Ferguson.
Fergie also helped sway United and Ronaldo into a deal for the second time, and the player still adores the great man.
Ronaldo ended his message with a note, “PS – Sir Alex, this one is for you…” and the picture of the two together at Old Trafford was one of the first memories he shared.
Club and country
Ronaldo has enjoyed great international success with Portugal during and since his time at Manchester United.
He has scored at every major tournament including and since Euro 2004, winning Euro 2016.

Ballon d’Or
Cristiano Ronaldo has won five Ballon d’Or awards and he has not forgotten that the first one came while at Manchester United.
Ronaldo won his first award in 2008, with double the votes of Lionel Messi, with Fernando Torres finishing in third.
He went on to win four more Ballon d’Or awards, the most recent in 2018.
Ronaldo has not forgotten the roots of his global success take him back to Old Trafford.
