Bruno Fernandes posted heartfelt messages to new West Ham summer signing Aaron Wan-Bissaka after his former Manchester United teammate confirmed his exit from Old Trafford.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka inked a whopping seven-year deal with West Ham after the Hammers agreed to sign him for a £15m fee from Manchester United.

The 26-year-old United right-back made 190 appearances for the Red Devils and lifted the FA Cup and the League Cup during his time at Old Trafford.

Wan-Bissaka had been at United since 2019 after former Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer signed him from Crystal Palace in a deal worth £50m.

The United star had been first-choice right-back under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, but Wan-Bissaka fell down the pecking order under current manager Erik ten Hag.

Fernandes’ messages to Wan-Bissaka

Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s exit from Old Trafford was all but certain after Manchester United prepared to sign Noussair Mazraoui from Bayern Munich.

Erik ten Hag had worked with Noussair Mazraoui at Ajax and the Red Devils completed their double signing of the Morocco right-back and Matthijs de Ligt.

Wan-Bissaka would have seen his first-team minutes limited even further with the arrival of Mazraoui, who had previously been linked with West Ham, at Old Trafford.

Bruno Fernandes posted his first message to Wan-Bissaka after the former United defender penned an emotionally charged message following his transfer.

“Will miss you spider,” he wrote.

Wan-Bissaka, who will wear the No 29 shirt for the Hammers, later sent a clear-cut message to West Ham fans after signing for the London club.

“A new home. Let’s go, Hammers! Excited to get going,” he wrote.

Fernandes wasted no time again making his feelings clear by saying that London “ain’t ready” for what the former Crystal Palace star is about to bring to West Ham.

Responding to Wan-Bissaka’s post, Fernandes commented: “London ain’t ready for the spider.”

Wan-Bissaka on West Ham transfer

Wan-Bissaka made it clear that he felt a return to London was the perfect move for him and the former United full-back is keen to make his mark at West Ham.

“It was a no-brainer for me to join West Ham – I’m excited and happy to be here,” he told West Ham’s official website.

“I can’t wait to get on the pitch, get to know the players, and push on from there.

“I see a team that is in it together, that will push each other to win, and a group that has got each others’ backs through thick and thin, so being part of that and having that insurance helps a lot when you are surrounded by a good squad.”
