New Manchester United signing Ayden Heaven is getting in the mix for the Red Devils.

Manchester United have very high hopes for new signing Ayden Heaven. Technical director Jason Wilcox made clear Heaven is a signing for the first team, following his signing from Arsenal.

United had planned to sign the Heaven in the summer, and it could be timely he has joined, with centre-back Lisandro Martinez out with a torn ACL.

Heaven, 18, has been training at Carrington, wearing the number 26 squad number recently assigned to him.

Ayden Heaven training with United first team

Manchester United release images from training very infrequently since Ruben Amorim took over. And he would perhaps point to that being because time to train is very limited.

This week Manchester United have no midweek game. And following United’s win over Leicester last Friday, there is ample preparation ahead of Sunday’s upcoming fixture with Tottenham.

Heaven was pictured in training, images he was keen to share on his Instagram feed.

Ayden Heaven is one of two Manchester United youngsters recruited from Arsenal over the past six months.

Striker Chido Obi joined United last year. Just 17, there is plenty of time for him to break into the first team squad, he has been playing for the under-18s and under-21s.

Obi reached out to Heaven, responding to his message to hail the defender as a ‘senior player’.

United have called Chido Obi into first team training sessions previously. This has been on recovery days for players who started matchday fixtures at weekend.

So while not the full experience, it does give Amorim and his coaching staff a chance to run the rule over and keep track of his progress.

Heaven under consideration for minutes

United believe Heaven and Leny Yoro can be two crucial players for the future of the defence.

Ruben Amorim has already confirmed Ayden Heaven is under consideration for first team action. He was an unused substitute in the FA Cup win over Leicester.

Amorim described Heaven as ‘ready to play’ and a potential ‘solution’ for the team. How he performs in training could have a key bearing on how quickly his debut comes around.
