Manchester United didn’t have the most exciting winter window which was to be expected, considering their financial worries and huge wages for underperforming stars.
However, they did manage to give Ruben Amorim the player he desired the most at a position where he required reinforcements at the most.
Patrick Dorgu arrives to give much-needed dynamism to the left side while the signing of Ayden Heaven couldn’t be better timed after Lisandro Martinez’s injury.
However, among the hits was a major miss, one that is set to come back and haunt them immediately in the Premier League.

Mathys Tel miss could haunt Man Utd soon
As Man Utd headed into the deadline day, there was only one name on everybody’s lips, and that was Mathys Tel, who was the subject of a topsy-turvy transfer saga.
From Tel rejecting Tottenham, then agreeing to sign for Man Utd, then Bayern rejecting a bid for the player who shockingly agreeing a loan move to Spurs, it was the full experience of the transfer window.
The finality of it is that Tel goes to Spurs and Ruben Amorim is left to rely on two misfiring strikers to see him through to the end of the season.
What looks like a major transfer window miss right now for Man Utd has the potential to turn into something much worse because the timelines have aligned.
As it stands, Tel will make his Premier League debut against who else but Manchester United on February 16 at his new home.

United were recently given a lesson in centre-forward display by Jean-Philippe Mateta in their 0-2 loss to Crystal Palace but to get another from the player they could have had will sting.
Ruben Amorim should prioritise and finish the season
If Tel scores against United that day to condemn them to another Premier League defeat, it will hurt but it won’t be very shocking.
That is because it would be a game against 13th vs 14th in the league so anyone can win and neither would have many ramifications for their season domestically.
United’s Premier League season is finished. They won’t get relegated and European qualification is a mirage in the distance.
Amorim should prioritise and go all-in on Europa League and the FA Cup to make something of this season, his squad depth (or the lack of it) won’t allow him to do anything else.
If Tel scores and Spurs win, shake your head in disappointment for five minutes and move on. Fans are all too used to doing that in the Premier League this season.
The real trophy lies somewhere else.
