Manchester United’s first signing of the Ruben Amorim era has been completed on Saturday.

While we wait for Patrick Dorgu to complete his medical on Saturday, Ineos wrapped up another addition.

Manchester United announced the arrival of Ayden Heaven from Arsenal – for a minuscule £1.5m compensation package.

United confirmed Heaven’s arrival, and in the article, Jason Wilcox confirmed that the 18-year-old was signed to go straight into the first team.

Heaven becomes the first signing under Ruben Amorim, and he has been handed the No.26 shirt for the remainder of this season.

The England U19 international has spoken about his joy to have joined United, and now he’s put out a statement on his Instagram – which Chido Obi has responded to.

Chido Obi reacts to Ayden Heaven transfer

After the transfer was announced, Heaven took to Instagram.

He posted twice, with one post having a caption which read: “Let’s get to work!”

In the second message, Heaven revealed how excited he is to work with Amorim.

“I’m so proud to have signed for Manchester United – one of the world’s biggest clubs with a proud history of nurturing and developing young talent.

“I can’t wait to begin my journey at the Carrington Training Centre, working with and getting to know Head Coach, Ruben, my new teammates, and everyone at the club.

“There’s a lot of hard work ahead, but this is exciting.

“While I already know a little bit about how passionate United fans are, not just in England but around the world, I can’t wait to feel their incredible support myself.”

In the comments of this post, Heaven’s former Arsenal teammate and now current United teammate Chido Obi reacted.

The clinical 17-year-old striker commented a heart emoji as he welcomed his friend to the club. The second Arsenal prospect stolen by United this season.

Ethan Wheatley was another to react to the post, commenting: “Welcome brother”. Wheatley is at Walsall on loan so will have to wait until the summer to be training with Heaven.

When will Heaven make Manchester United debut?

The club have made it very clear that Heaven has been signed with the idea that he will be in the first-team straight away and so his debut is likely not far off.

Therefore, we imagine that he will be in the running to start next Friday in place of Lisandro Martinez against Leicester City in the FA Cup.

Martinez is in desperate need of a rest and now United have the option to give him that rest with Heaven starting instead for his debut.

Heaven might be joined in this game as Dorgu could also make his debut for United here and it would be a nice game to be eased in.

Old Trafford against Leicester is a game which is a kind one – so we fully expect them to make their bows.
