Manchester United youngster Amad Diallo has been rewarded for his excellent start to the season.

Amad Diallo ended 2023/24 in excellent form, showing flashes of what he is capable of, suggesting he is ready to live up to his dazzling potential.

Straight away in pre-season, Amad showed he was ready to pick up where he left off, scoring two goals and impressing supporters.

At the weekend, Amad scored his first goal of the Premier League season in Manchester United’s 2-1 defeat at Brighton.

Amad gets Ivory Coast call-up

Amad’s impressive form for Manchester United in recent weeks and months has now been rewarded at international level.

The Federation Ivoirienne de Football announced via Facebook their squad for their upcoming international matches.

Amad has been included, with the Manchester United winger earning his first Ivory Coast call-up since March 2021.

At this time he was playing for Manchester United, making his debut for the club under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

In July 2021, Amad was called up for the Ivory Coast under-23 squad at the Olympics in Tokyo. He then returned and got injured and missed out on a planned move to Feyenoord.

Amad then went on loan to Rangers in the second half of the 2021/22 season, before spending 2022/23 on loan at Sunderland.

Now re-established as a Manchester United regular, Amad has subsequently earned a call-up back to the Ivory Coast team for the first time in three years.

Amad has already scored for Ivory Coast

Amad has four international appearances to his name for the Ivory Coast, which includes one goal.

The Manchester United youngster scored a free-kick in stoppage time to earn Ivory Coast a 2-1 win over Burkina Faso, in just his second ever match.

Amad sent a message to Bruno Fernandes after the game, saying ‘you taught me’, while he received a congratulatory message from Didier Drogba.

Amad’s international fixtures

Amad will be playing in important international fixtures for Ivory Coast in the early September international break.

Ivory Coast face Zambia and then Chad in African Cup of Nations qualifiers, before the winger returns for Manchester United’s next Premier League fixture.
