Manchester United’s Amad Diallo has impressed during his loan to Sunderland, with the Sunderland boss consistently praising the winger.
Amad has became Sunderland’s star player, scoring 12 goals and assisting four in his 37 appearances. The 20-year-old has made himself indispensable to Tony Mowbray at the Stadium of Light.
The Ivory Coast youngster has been a key reason as to why Sunderland are currently pushing for a playoff place. Amad’s performances have drawn high praise from Mowbray who heaped praise onto the young talent.
“He’s an amazing footballer.” Mowbray was quoted by the Northern Echo. “The game is so easy for him, individually, he is superb.”

Amad plays football in a manner which is extremely pleasing on the eye. On his style of play, Mowbray admits he doesn’t know his motivation, but does know he loves the game.
“I don’t really know Amad to know what motivates him. He loves football and wants to play, That’s what makes him so good.”
Amad’s future
Amad is set to return to United after the season ends, with Erik ten Hag likely highly impressed by the season Amad has had. On his return Amad will be part of the first team.
However, his two favoured positions are occupied by Bruno Fernandes and Antony. Therefore another loan could be best for his progression, this is a move Mowbray would like to see, especially if they get promoted.
“If we end up in that situation [promoted to the Premier League], there’s a much better chance that he [Amad] will come back.
Mowbray added, “He would be playing against Premier League teams every week and he would be in a safe environment he knows and loves.”
Amad has clearly thrived at Sunderland, and is one of the three nominees for the Championship Young Player of the Year award.

Whether he returns to The Black Cats or not next season, Mowbray sees Amad as having all the skills to be a future United player.
“Why couldn’t he play for Man United? A player who doesn’t lose the ball, who can play in small spaces, who can score goals…
Mowbray concluded by explaining he is excited to watch where Amad goes in his career, having previously earmarked him for big things.
“Time will tell, it will It will be interesting to follow the evolution of his career.”
Amad’s promotion chasing Sunderland are 10th just three points off promotion and have three games left to play.
