The January transfer window opens in little under two weeks and Manchester United look likely to be busy.
Ineos are not expected to spend big in January, with Ruben Amorim giving most of his squad the season before he makes a decision.
However, Manchester United could be forced into business with Marcus Rashford now stating his desire to leave the club.
Outside of this, youth arrivals in the form of Sverre Nypan look the most likely area of recruitment, while a handful of youngsters could be loaned out.
Ethan Wheatley has been linked with Wrexham, while other names on the loan list are Dan Gore and Ethan Ennis.

Ethan Ennis heading for a January loan exit
It is no surprise that Ennis is a wanted man this January across the football league, with his performances against senior opposition in the EFL Trophy proving he is ready for a bigger challenge – with the Altrincham boss raving about Ennis.
Now, Manchester Evening News has reported that clubs in the Championship and League One are among those showing an interest in the Liverpudlian Red Devil.
Talks are expected to be ongoing ahead of the January transfer window, and if a loan deal is made, it will be one which United are confident benefits Ennis’ development.
Due to this, United are unlikely to send Ennis to a high-placed team, instead prioritising minutes and which club best suits the 19-year-old.
United opted against a loan for Ennis in the summer, however, his form is simply too good to have him playing academy football – he could really be about to explode into his potential which is long overdue.
Manchester United will be excited by Ennis’ resurgence
When Ennis was signed in 2021, he was widely considered one of England’s best young talents, however, a disastrous ACL rupture led to 14 months out of action in 2022.
Now, to the delight of everyone Ennis has been finding the levels which made him so hyped back when he was 17.
Ennis’ performances against senior opposition gives Ineos no choice, but to loan him out and see what he can do.
A strong loan could even see him given a proper chance in the summer under Amorim – as the United head coach has shown interest in the youth by watching the U21s.
Man United U21 goals and assists combined 24/25

- Ethan Wheatley – eight goal contributions
- Jack Fletcher – eight goal contributions
Ennis has scored 10 goals at U21 level this season along with three assists, making him clearly Travis Binnion’s most effective player. We are excited to see him potentially on loan.
