The Manchester United academy is in incredible form but one player has been endorsed by Jason Wilcox and Darren Fletcher.

This week has seen new Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim take training for the first time.

Amorim is known for trusting the academy with Sporting, and already we are seeing signs he will do the same at Carrington.

In training on Monday, Amorim had 14 academy talents with Jim Thwaites one exciting inclusion as a midfielder and also defender Godwill Kukonki was involved.

Gabriele Biancheri has been immense this season and cannot stop scoring, but his goal-scoring is being rivalled by new arrival Chido Obi-Martin.

The young Dane has carried his incredible scoring from Arsenal to United, while also scoring for Denmark at an U18 level – now he’s been endorsed by key figures at Carrington.

Jason Wilcox and Darren Fletcher raving about Chido Obi-Martin

Ever since joining the club, Obi-Martin has been tipped as a future star at Old Trafford – with United fans impressed with his training clips.

These clips proved to be a telling display of his quality as he soon got among the goals for United’s U18 side.

Stuck up top in Adam Lawrence’s breathtaking academy team, Obi-Martin scored a hat-trick on his first start, while also scoring against Everton.

Now, according to Give Me Sport, it is not only fans who have been impressed by Obi-Martin.

Technical director Jason Wilcox, academy chief Nick Cox and coach Darren Fletcher have all been blown away.

The report explains that the trio have already spoken with Amorim about Obi-Martin’s development and are discussing development plans for the 16-year-old.

Due to these raving reviews, Amorim is preparing to fast-track Obi-Martin through the ranks – with under 21 minutes expected to prepare him for senior football.

When will Chido Obi-Martin debut for Manchester United?

Despite all the excitement and how dominant Obi-Martin looks right now, expecting him to debut and instantly impress this season is slightly naive.

At just 16 years old, the lethal Dane still has plenty to improve upon in his game before Amorim can turn him into a superstar – as he promises to be.

On his U21 debut for United, Obi-Martin was not so dominant and struggled slightly before Biancheri took his place as a striker.

Despite this, with development being handled right, 2025 could see Obi-Martin at least get some cameo minutes. But we imagine he will have his eyes on the pre-season tour to break out during.
