How Chido Obi-Martin fared for Denmark U18, Man Utd wonderkid is simply unstoppable

Like several of his Manchester United teammates, Chido Obi-Martin is spending the international break in action for his country.

The latest sensation to join the groundbreaking Manchester United academy has been a huge success so far in a limited time with his new team.

Chido Obi-Martin only completed his move to United last month but is already among the most highly regarded prospects at Carrington.

His debut only came 27 days ago, on a day when Bendito Mantato stole the headlines against Sunderland. However, one week on, Obi-Martin netted a sensational hattrick to announce himself to the club properly.

This hattrick even led to Obi-Martin getting a chance at U21.

Back in the U18s last weekend, Obi-Martin scored once again, taking his tally to four goals and one assist in just four U18 appearances.

Now on international duty, this has continued.

How Chido Obi-Martin fared for Denmark U18

After disappointingly missing Tuesday’s EFL Trophy defeat to Huddersfield, Obi-Martin has been in action for Denmark.

The Danish U18 manager has insisted he’s in close dialogue with United over Obi-Martin, which means the club will be well aware that his impressive scoring has spilt over to international duty.

In a 2-1 loss for Denmark against Finland, Obi-Martin scored the sole goal, with images from the match emerging to show the 16-year-old being flocked by young Danish fans in celebration.

After Gabriele Biancheri’s heroics for Wales in their 1-0 win over Scotland, now both standout United striking prospects have continued their scoring in international football.

Obi-Martin is a goal machine

When the rumours first emerged around Obi-Martin in the summer, there was a feeling of disbelief as United were stealing Arsenal’s best prospect.

Obi-Martin boasted an incredible scoring record at Arsenal, and now we are beginning to see the same for United and Denmark.

In 172 minutes of U18 action for United this season, Obi-Martin has averaged a goal every 43 minutes or a goal contribution every 34.4 minutes.

After the international break, Obi-Martin will hope to add to his tally, with another game against a poor Leeds side next Saturday and then against Stoke on the 30th.
