Manchester United are closing in on securing the first transfer chosen especially by Ruben Amorim.
Patrick Dorgu has become the clear favourite option for Manchester United in order to bolster the left wing-back position.
The position was quickly recognised as a major weakness within Ruben Amorim’s team.
In order to bolster the team, therefore, United have already bid for Patrick Dorgu. This £23m offer was instantly rejected by Lecce – however, this was not the end of the story.
Fabrizio Romano explained another bid was expected, and now this offer has been submitted by United on Friday.

United’s pursuit of Dorgu is beginning to get close, United in Focus understand.
Speaking with transfer expert Graeme Bailey, United in Focus can share that a new bid for Dorgu has been sent.
“The new bid is worth €33m (£27.7m), United believe they can get him for less than €40m (£34m).
“The one big thing, is some people were mentioning Napoli, but from my understanding, the player has made it clear he wants to join United now.
“In the last 48 hours, he really wants it to be done. So that will play a big part for Lecce, so I think it will get done.
“It’s not done between clubs, but there’s not an awful lot between them now, just a couple million so it will happen”
Romano also reported that a new bid has been submitted, despite a slight discrepancy in the value of the bid.
This desire to join United should lend itself well combined with the incredible engine Dorgu possesses.

Old Trafford figures ‘excited’ by Dorgu
With Antony set to join Real Betis this weekend, the arrival of Dorgu will be a welcome addition to the options at wing-back.
It is a transfer which will leave United and Amorim very excited, as United in Focus understands after speaking with Graeme.
“The scouts love him,” it is explained. “He’ll be the first United signing specifically for Amorim’s system, that’s why it’s exciting for United and Amorim. This is an Amorim specific signing.”
For scouts, the signing of Dorgu is the first player signed specifically for Amorim’s system and it shows that the club are completely backing him and the style of football.
Adding Dorgu can be likened to signing Leny Yoro, which should say everything about how special he could be.
