Man Utd pushing to sign ‘very dynamic’ talent ‘who can run for 90 minutes’, he’s a ‘machine’

Manchester United have one major addition in the works for this month with recent performances making the need for additions clear.

Ever since taking charge, Ruben Amorim has been working with one hand tied behind his back due to how poor the squad at his disposal is.

Manchester United sit 13th in the Premier League, and this seems to have finally sparked the decision-makers into action this month.

The left wing-back is a priority position, with Tyrell Malacia free to leave the club. Meanwhile, finances will be freed up by the impending exit of Antony.

This week has seen concrete talks with Lecce to sign Patrick Dorgu, who United view as the perfect left wing-back addition.

Now the qualities of Dorgu are becoming clear thanks to what his former coaches are saying.

Johannes Hoff Thorup on Patrick Dorgu’s engine

The potential addition of Dorgu is exciting, with former Denmark boss Kasper Hjulmand praising his quality.

This is not the only bit of exciting praise which has been levelled at Dorgu. His former coach at Nordsjaelland, Johannes Hoff Thorup, also raved about his ability in 2023.

“I had him as a U14 and U17 player, and he did very well there, as he is doing now”, Thorup told Danish outlet, Bold.

“He is a very dynamic and physical player who can run 90 minutes and I actually don’t think he missed a training session in the time he was here in North Zealand, so he really is a machine in that regard. A very humble boy who works hard for things.”

Dorgu’s engine has also be likened to that of three players, which should help him fulfil Amorim’s demand of running like mad dogs.

Manchester United set to submit a second bid for Dorgu

Despite Dorgu being the top target this month for United, an agreement has so far been beyond the reach of the Old Trafford outfit.

United have offered £23m while Lecce wants closer to £34m. Despite a lack of agreement thus far, further talks are expected.

Fabrizio Romano has tweeted that his understanding is that United are preparing a new proposal to offer to the Serie A side.

This is not expected to reach the Lecce demands but should be enough to entice the selling club, if not be enough for them to accept.

Lecce have already moved for a replacement and Dorgu is keen on the move to Old Trafford.
