Manchester United are finally set to bid farewell to Antony, even if it is only until July.
The nightmare which was Antony’s £86m move to Old Trafford is set to take a momentary hiatus.
Erik ten Hag’s most expensive signing never looked worth a fraction of the price for Manchester United, now at the first opportunity, Ruben Amorim sent the Brazilian packing.
United were concerned about sending Antony on a six-month loan, however, given how bad Antony has been, Ineos have had no choice.
This week, Antony’s move to Real Betis has been imminent. However, the Brazilian was involved in United training on Wednesday and was in the squad for the win over Rangers.
Now, the deal finally is over the line.

Real Betis to cover a substantial amount of Antony’s wage
One of his future teammates has already reacted to the possible addition of Antony at Real Betis.
On Friday afternoon, Fabrizio Romano confirmed the deal was done with his famous ‘here we go’ catchphrase.
Antony will travel to Sevilla on Friday night with the green light given by all parties for the move to go ahead. It will be a straight loan until June with no option for Betis to buy him.
Following this, Romano also tweeted the part of the deal every United fan will have been excited to hear – the wage percentages of the loan.
Betis will cover 84 per cent of Antony’s wages until the end of the season with potential bonuses also involved in the deal.
With Antony earning £200,000-a-week, this means United will see a whopping £168,000-a-week wiped off the wage bill until June, a massive result for United.
Now, we await confirmation from the clubs, which will surely come over the weekend.

Manchester United have a ready-made replacement
Getting Antony out of the club will be seen as a big win by United, especially for the financial reasons mentioned.
The hope now will be that he is full of renewed confidence and goes on to catch the eye in Spain. Ineos will hope a successful loan raises the £16m valuation of Antony expected next year.
In terms of replacing Antony’s presence in the squad, United will need someone to play a squad rotational role and Amorim should delve into the academy in order to do so.
Shea Lacey would have been the perfect option. However, with the Liverpudlian’s injury woes continuing, Amir Ibragimov could get his big chance.
Ibragimov is targeting a senior debut this season, and his form for the academy will be catching the eye. The money freed up from Antony can therefore instead go toward signing Patrick Dorgu.
