Nottingham Forest manager Vitor Pereira was asked about Elliot Anderson’s future after the final game of the Premier League season, with the England international among Manchester United’s top transfer targets.
The 2025/26 Premier League season has come to an end, with third-placed Manchester United beating Brighton 3-0 at the Amex Stadium on Sunday.
After appointing Michael Carrick as the permanent head coach earlier this week, United will now turn their attention towards the summer transfer window.
The biggest task is revamping the midfield with Casemiro’s departure. That has led to United being linked with midfielders such as Elliot Anderson, Ederson and Mateus Fernandes.

Should Manchester United pay £125m for Elliot Anderson?

Vitor Pereira unsure about Elliot Anderson’s future at Nottingham Forest
Anderson may have played his final game in a Forest shirt following a 1-1 draw with Bournemouth.
Following a 65-minute display against The Cherries, Anderson will now begin preparations for the 2026 World Cup after getting called up to the England squad.
Anderson will also be the subject of intense transfer speculation. United and City are both interested, though Forest reportedly wants over £100m for his signature.
Forest boss Pereira was asked about Anderson’s future after the last game of the season. He admitted that the 23-year-old deserves to be competing at the highest level, before stressing that the club wants to keep their best players this summer.
“I don’t have the answer,” Pereira told Sky Sports.
“If you ask me if he deserves the best clubs in the world, he deserves. He has a lot of quality, he is a talent. But he is our player and I am very happy with him.
“The market is the market, I cannot predict the market. I know we want to keep the same players, to bring two or three players to help us balance the squad. In the end, we’ll see.”

No goodbye wave from Elliot Anderson
Jak Netting, who covers Nottingham Forest, paid close attention to Anderson as he did his lap of appreciation with his teammates for the fans after the match.
Sometimes departing players use this opportunity to wave goodbye to the fans who have shown their support, but Anderson didn’t make any emotional gestures at the City Ground on Sunday.
That doesn’t change the fact that Anderson will be dominating the headlines until his future is solved.
