Manchester United could end the window with a late flourish after recent developments surrounding some of their own players.
It was recently reported that Greek side Panathinaikos are in advanced talks for Facundo Pellistri, which will be a boost to finances.
In addition, the situation of Jadon Sancho remains open, especially after he was dropped from the squad vs Fulham.
Victor Lindelof’s future is also uncertain, although a recent injury could scupper the move but United are nonetheless hoping to do a deal for him.
However, the biggest profit potential at Old Trafford is with the sale of Scott McTominay, who has garnered a lot of interest this window.

Napoli director on Scott McTominay transfer
Having rejected two bids from Fulham for the player, United are believed to be holding out for at least £25 million for a player who came through the academy.
He remains a favourite of Erik ten Hag, and the manager has already said this season he values his skill set and would be happy to keep him.
In fact, he was one of the players who came off the bench vs Fulham as United tried to score a late winner and was a key man in causing the chaos which led to Joshua Zirkzee’s goal on debut.
Napoli recently entered talks for him and it is believed that they were favouring a loan deal for him, which was a no-go for United as his contract is close to expiring.
As the transfer links heat up, Napoli’s director Giovanni Manna has broken his silence over the transfer rumours.
He said McTominay, along with another target Billy Gilmour, are “very good players” but they are not “our players at the moment” so he refused to elaborate further.
He said: “McTominay and Gilmour are very good players… but they’re not our players so, no comment. Full focus on the game and then we will focus again on transfers.”
McTominay transfer will transform United’s window
Due to his status as an academy product, McTominay’s sale will boost United’s window more than any other player.
If he is sold for about £25 million, then theoretically, United would be able to spend £125 million on a player while giving him a five-year contract.
Of course, these calculations are never this straightforward and simple but just the general idea of what it can do for United’s distressed financial situation is extremely enticing.
It is worth noting that Fulham haven’t returned with a third bid but haven’t completely ended their interest either.
Add to that potential interest from Turkey, and this is a deal that could spark a bidding war closer to the deadline day as teams start getting itchy.
Napoli, in particular, could be cash-rich soon if Victor Osimhen is sold so the potential for United to get their desired transfer fee is definitely there.
As Manna, says, United fans might be hoping Napoli starts focusing on transfers again soon!
