Facundo Pellistri could find himself under immediate pressure to replace Bayern Munich’s new £13 million signing when he leaves Premier League giants Manchester United for Granada.
Make no mistake, this is no easy option for Facundo Pellistri, the winger who has struggled to establish himself in Erik ten Hag’s Red Devils plans.
Not only are Granada second from bottom in the La Liga table – beaten 2-0 by Mason Greenwood’s Getafe on Monday night – they could also be about to lose the man who has been a bright spark in a rather dark season at the Estadio Nuevo los Carmenes.

Facundo Pellistri set for Manchester United exit
Bayern Munich have already agreed a deal which will see the explosive Bryan Zaragoza move to Germany in 2024. Exactly when Zaragoza joins Harry Kane and co in Bavaria remains to be seen, however.
Speaking to BuliNews, Bayern’s sporting director Christoph Freund has confirmed his intention to add another talented young thespian to the ‘FC Hollywood’ cast list in January rather than in July, hoping to speed up Zaragoza’s move to boost the club’s Bundesliga title hopes.
“We are in talks as to whether it would be possible for us to bring him in sooner,” Freund explains. “But that always involves three parties. We are currently in the process of clarifying things.”
Granada, given their precarious position in Spain’s relegation zone, might not be too keen on the idea of losing Zaragoza midway through the season. He is not only their joint-top scorer with six goals, he is also their most influential attacker. Zaragoza scored a brilliant brace against Barcelona in the autumn, comfortably the high-point of a dreadful campaign for the Andalusian outfit.
And if Bayern get their wish, one-time Alaves loanee Pellistri will return to Spain with plenty of pressure on his young shoulders. It may be he who is tasked with filling a Zaragoza-shaped void on the wings. A tough task for any player, let alone one who has scored fewer goals in the entirety of his senior career than Zaragoza has this season alone.
Big challenge awaits in La Liga
Egardio Lasalvia, Pellistri’s agent, confirmed a few hours ago that the plan was for the Uruguayan to jet out to Spain today before undergoing a medical at the club he should call home for the next few months.
“He leaves at 3pm from Manchester and we are waiting for him,” Lasalvia tells Sport890. “The loan is until June and we came (to Granada) looking for minutes.”
