Manchester United are heading towards the January transfer window with little incoming business expected for Ruben Amorim.
2024 is coming to an end and Manchester United have one last chance to give fans something to shout about.
United host Newcastle United at Old Trafford on Monday night and simply have to come up with some kind of response.
United lost 2-0 at Wolverhampton Wanderers on Boxing Day and have now lost four of the last five Premier League games.
The win at Manchester City now feels a long time ago with United failing to build on that superb result at the Etihad Stadium.
Ruben Amorim certainly knows the scale of the task ahead of him now but January business may be at a premium.

Manchester United receive loan offers
United spent more than £180million on new signings over the summer so January spending may be a little difficult.
The attention may actually be on outgoings with Christian Eriksen and Victor Lindelof potentially primed to leave ahead of their contracts expiring.
The Daily Mail now claim that one Premier League club have been speaking to United about potential loan signings.
It won’t surprise many United fans to hear that the club in question is Leicester City.
Leicester recently appointed Ruud van Nistelrooy as their new manager, replacing Steve Cooper in the dugout.
Van Nistelrooy left United in November following Amorim’s arrival and is now looking to keep the Foxes in the Premier League.
The Dutchman needs all the help he can get and calls have been made to United to see if any players are available for loan in the second half of the season.

Who could United send to Leicester City?
United may fancy loaning some young players out in January but sending them to Leicester may not be the ideal move.
Dan Gore, Harry Amass and Ethan Wheatley are prime contenders for loan departures but they are not ready for Premier League action just yet.
The favourite here will be midfielder Toby Collyer.
Van Nistelrooy wants Collyer at Leicester according to recent reports with a loan deal eyed.
Collyer has only managed 45 minutes of Premier League action this season but he is highly regarded and could benefit from loan action with Van Nistelrooy’s Leicester.
Another name to throw into the mix here is left back Tyrell Malacia.
Malacia recently returned from injury but was completely left out of United’s defeat at Wolves earlier this week.
A loan to another Premier League side could help Malacia gain some momentum and, crucially, put him in the shop window.
Collyer and Malacia appear to make the most sense if Leicester want loan deals with United facing some key decisions in the January window.
