Patrick Dorgu looks set to be Ruben Amorim’s first signing at Manchester United.
Patrick Dorgu has become the clear favourite for the left-back position, with Amorim keen to sign someone amid Luke Shaw’s terrible injury record, and with Tyrell Malacia not exactly cutting it in his system.
United submitted a £23m bid for Dorgu, which was immediately rejected. The Red Devils then bid £28m for Dorgu, which again was too low for Lecce.
Recent reports state Ineos are set to present a third bid for Dorgu, which is £29.5m (€35m) guaranteed plus add-ons.
The move now looks ever the more likely, with reliable transfer guru Fabrizio Romano indicating that Lecce have now found a replacement.

Lecce find Patrick Dorgu replacement
Romano took to X to confirm that Lecce are set to sign Danilo Veiga from Estrela Amadora as their new fullback.
Veiga primarily operates as a right-back, which is a position that Dorgu has played for the Italian side this season multiple times.
The Serie A side have also been in talks with Scottish club Hearts over a potential deal for full-back Daniel Oyegoke.
Lecce now have a surplus of full-backs with Veiga joining, so the move makes it look even more likely that Dorgu will be coming to Manchester United in this transfer window.

What Patrick Dorgu will bring to Manchester United
Ultimately, Dorgu will be the starting left-back for Manchester United under Amorim, but he will also bring some versatility to the side.
Dorgu can play in multiple positions, which is ideal given that Amorim is struggling to fill gaps in the new 3-4-3 system.
Ultimately though, the Danish full-back will bring a much-needed injection of pace and power to the Manchester United squad. Dorgu has been described as a “machine”.
United have been bossed about in the Premier League far too many times this season. Dorgu signing may be the first step to stop this happening so often.
