More than half of the January transfer window is now gone and Manchester United are yet to make a move of any significance for the senior team.
That hasn’t stopped the dominos from falling around them, however, and two major ones might have fallen with just one big development.
The transfer market has always been a game where one big move follows another, as seen in AC Milan’s chase of Kyle Walker complicating the Marcus Rashford situation.
In the same vein, Fabrizio Romano might just have spelled the end of two transfer sagas at United with a single “Here we go” declaration.

Fabrizio Romano gives Randal Kolo Muani transfer update
Manchester United had been concretely linked with Randal Kolo Muani, the PSG forward who was guaranteed to leave the French capital in January.
A six-month loan for him, probably with a buy clause would have made perfect sense for United to add to their flailing attacking power.
It went as far as being reported that United will do ‘everything possible’ to sign Kolo Muani just recently. So much for that…
Fabrizio Romano has just given his famed “Here we go” to Kolo Muani’s loan move to Juventus for six months with no buy option, permanent or optional.
He added that the French forward has accepted the proposal and will undergo medical tests in Turin this week as Juventus add to their attacking ranks.
With that, a forward option comes off the market for United in this window but at the same time, ends another transfer saga, this time an outgoing one.
Juventus’s Randal Kolo Muani signing gives Joshua Zirkzee clarity
The domino effect of the transfer market is sure to be felt from this signing as Kolo Muani was also linked to Tottenham and had a bearing on Joshua Zirkzee’s future.
Zirkzee’s future at United was iffy until recently, with Amorim also accepting some movement could happen.
Juventus were the team linked most reliably to Zirkzee in a move that made sense for all parties- the player gets to reunite with Thiago Motta, Juventus get a player they were interested in during the summer, and United cut their losses quickly on a player who wasn’t impressing.
However, not only does Zirkzee look like he’s turned a corner, he can probably rest easy and focus on working hard to succeed at United now that Juventus have signed a striker.
It is easy to assume that Zirkzee is going nowhere this January after Kolo Muani’s Juventus move since no other team was linked to him.
Of course, a surprise move can never be ruled out but all the circumstances have aligned at the same time to make it look like one declaration by Romano has ended two sagas at United, one incoming and one outgoing.
