Manchester United’s Will Fish undergoing Cardiff City medical ahead of Swansea City derby clash

Manchester United are offloading two young players in the coming days as Erik ten Hag shapes his squad at Old Trafford.

This has been a busy summer for Manchester United with Erik ten Hag able to bolster his squad with four first-team additions.

Part of being able to bring in Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna, Leny Yoro from Lille and both Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui from Bayern Munich is that United do need to offload some players.

Facundo Pellistri has completed a move to Panathinaikos this week and more exits are on the horizon ahead of next week’s transfer deadline.

Will Fish’s transfer to Cardiff City

Defender Will Fish seems primed to leave the club after loan spells with Stockport County and Hibernian.

Fish has spent more than a decade in the United ranks but his time at United appears to be coming to an end.

Reports this week suggested that United had agreed to sell Fish to Cardiff City – and that deal is now close.

Wales Online report that Fish is set to undergo a medical with Cardiff ahead of finalising his move to South Wales.

Cardiff may actually be in something of a rush to get this deal fully signed off.

The Bluebirds travel to take on bitter rivals Swansea City in their first derby clash of the season on Sunday afternoon.

Cardiff have started the season in dire form, losing their first two games of the Championship season whilst conceding seven goals.

Fish picked up an injury in pre-season and was expected to be out for five weeks, but the injury was not as bad as first feared.

That means Fish may yet be in line for a baptism of fire on a potential Cardiff debut this weekend, but it will all depend on getting the deal done and dusted – and making sure Fish is actually ready to play.

Maxi Oyedele finalising Poland move

Fish is not the only United talent on the move.

Reports earlier in the week suggested that Maxi Oyedele was set to join Legia Warsaw on a permanent basis.

Those claims suggested that United would be retaining a ‘substantial’ sell-on clause upon allowing Oyedele to leave.

Fabrizio Romano noted earlier on Thursday morning that Oyedele is in Poland to finalise his move.

The youngster has now confirmed his departure on Instagram, stating that his time at Old Trafford has come to an end.

Oyedele is a Poland youth international and will now attempt to further his career with Legia.
