Altay Bayindir is expected to leave but it’s unclear whether he would leave this month or at the end of the season.
United want to sign Senne Lammens and seemingly view the Royal Antwerp ace as real competition for Onana.
The 22-year-old is showing huge potential in Belgium but a move to Old Trafford won’t be happening this month.
Cesc Fabregas is at the heart of this stance as his Como side have just signed goalkeeper Jean Butez from Royal Antwerp.
Lammens has supplanted Butez as first-choice goalkeeper for Royal Antwerp but the Frenchman’s exit means that Lammens will not leave.
That is according to Belgian reporter Sacha Tavolieri, who claims that Butez’s move ‘eliminates’ the chances of Lammens leaving.
Royal Antwerp don’t want to lose two goalkeepers in one window and that means any exit for Lammens will be blocked in January.
United may well keep Lammens on the radar for the summer, but he appears to be a name to forget about this month.
Who is United target Senne Lammens?
Lammens emerged in the Club Brugge ranks but made just four first-team appearances for the club.
The 6ft 4in stopper was a regular for their Club NXT side but decided to leave the club for Royal Antwerp in 2023.
Lammens didn’t feature much last season but has really taken his game to another level this season.
Now the main goalkeeper for Belgium’s Under-21’s, Lammens is being tipped for a huge future.
Bayindir hasn’t exactly covered himself in glory when given chances in the United starting XI and with a departure expected this year, Lammens could be the man to replace him.
