Manchester United now interested in ‘special player’ amid Real Madrid clause and Cesc Fabregas praise

Manchester United have placed a keen focus on signing young players for the future under Ineos and that could continue in 2025.

Manchester United fans were hoping that Ineos would change the club’s fortunes but the first half of the season has been a case of ‘more of the same’.

United sit 13th in the Premier League table and new boss Ruben Amorim is no doubt wanting to rip this squad up and bring in his own players.

This is a long-term project for Amorim and United with Ineos showing a tendency to sign young players for the future.

United signed Leny Yoro from Lille over the summer whilst the likes of James Overy, Samuel Lusale and Chido Obi joined United’s youth setup.

It’s clear that Ineos want to add top prospects for the coming years and another talent is now on the radar.

Manchester United interested in Como star

United are set to sign wonderkid Diego Leon and the Cerro Porteno star could be joined at Old Trafford by another South American.

Italian newspaper Tuttosport report that United have been scouting Como talent Nico Paz recently.

Arsenal are also thought to have watched Paz in action whilst Javier Zanetti wants Inter Milan to sign the playmaker.

It’s stated that ‘everyone is crazy’ about Paz right now with interest mounting ahead of 2025.

Paz joined Como from Real Madrid in August with Tuttosport suggesting that Como paid around €6million (£5million) for the Argentinian.

Real Madrid have a 50% sell-on clause on Paz but also have a buy-back clause which can be activated in June – and Real intend to activate that clause.

That certainly complicates Paz’s future though Real may be tempted to bring him back and sell him on next summer, meaning United still have a chance.

Who is United target Nico Paz?

Paz hails from Tenerife and started his career with CD Tenerife as a kid, emerging in the ranks of his hometown club.

Real Madrid spotted Paz’s talent and, at the age of just 11, brought him to the Spanish capital.

Paz played 54 times for Real Madrid Castilla, bagging 12 goals and seven assists as an attacking midfielder.

After just eight first-team appearances for Real, Paz left the club for Como and has already notched two goals as well as four assists in 16 games this season.

As quoted by Football Italia, Como boss Cesc Fabregas has branded Paz a ‘special player’ and doesn’t want to see him become a ‘robotic’ player down the line.

“He’s a special player and he must be free to express himself,” Fabregas said at a post-match press conference,” said Fabregas.

“We must not make him robotic,” he added.

Paz certainly has huge potential at 20 and United may view him as a player who can grow into a star under Ruben Amorim – but the negotiations may end up coming with Real Madrid rather than Como.
