2025 is likely to bring with it quite a lot of transfer movement for Manchester United, with one player in particular sure to exit.
Despite the £616m Erik ten Hag spent while he was the boss of Manchester United, there is still a lot of work to be done within the squad that Ruben Amorim has inherited.
The Portuguese head coach has already taken a liking to several players, with Noussair Mazraoui now undroppable after his performances in the first few games.

However, the standout this season in general has been Andre Onana who has been among the best in the league and leads the division for clean sheets.
Onana’s form and quality in goal have left Altay Bayindir with the impossible task of getting minutes, with just three games played for United since his 2023 move.

Altay Bayindir could leave in 2025
Bayindir has only gotten games for United against Newport, Barnsley and finally Leicester City in the Carabao Cup under Ruud van Nistelrooy.
Due to this, it would be no surprise if the ‘very good’ goalkeeper was to leave in the new year and now this has been suggested by Florian Plettenberg.
It is claimed that within Carrington there is an expectation that the Turkish goalkeeper may depart the club over the next two transfer windows.
It is added that the season for this is that he is simply too good to be a number two – with no prospects for regular game time as of now.
United are very satisfied with Bayindir internally but are now expected to be in the market for a new second and third-choice goalkeeper in 2025.
Manchester United have the perfect No.2 goalkeeper on a shortlist
If Bayindir does leave, then it would make perfect sense for United to re-establish an interest in Zion Suzuki.
Suzuki has been a target since 2023 when he snubbed a move to Old Trafford.
Since then, United were interested during the 2024 summer transfer window but the Japanese No.1 opted to join Parma in Serie A instead.
Suzuki has become ‘world-class’ and seems the perfect long-term successor to Onana in goal, so signing him in 2025 could be ideal.
